COMPOSITE FIELD HOCKEY STICKS AND DAMAGE UNDER WARRANTY

Field hockey sticks purchased from Longstreth are covered under our warranty for six months from the date of purchase unless otherwise noted.

Please be aware that vibration is to be expected with composite field hockey sticks and is not covered under our warranty.

Any breakage, splintering, or chipping that creates dangerous or sharp edges, or otherwise renders a stick illegal, is covered under our warranty.  (Fig.A)

Striking of the ball with the forward edge of the stick stresses the stick in a manner it’s not manufactured to withstand. Damage that occurs from striking the ball with the forward edge of your stick is not covered under Longstreth’s warranty.

Please remember that graphics are an inessential and cosmetic element of your composite stick, purely for decoration. Graphics and paint will normally chip almost immediately with any serious playing time. Playability is in no way affected, and we encourage customers to anticipate chipping on their composite sticks. (Fig. B) Shaft guard will greatly diminish chipping, but remember, removal of shaft guard will deface graphics.

Graphics may also chip slightly in the stick’s journey from its overseas production facility to Longstreth, or from Longstreth to you. We strongly encourage concerned customers to simply cover such chips with nail polish or epoxy. Returns of such sticks are strongly discouraged, since the playability and integrity of the stick is in no way impacted, and since chipping is to be anticipated anyway.

Finally, save your stick for the playing field, for practices and games, and for striking field hockey balls only.  Your field hockey stick is not intended for striking other sticks, benches, or goal posts, or for use on concrete, macadam, or other unconventional playing surfaces.  Damage resulting from such misuse will not be covered under Longstreth’s warranty.
