Field Hockey Specialist

 

THE POSITION:

The primary role of the Field Hockey Specialist is to assist the Field Hockey Manager in enhancing Longstreth’s reputation for being experts in field hockey, to provide outstanding customer service and to help grow Longstreth’s market share.  The principle responsibilities include the following:

  • Manages relationships with dealers, universities, colleges, clubs and high schools.  

  • Functions as Longstreth’s public ambassador with all potential individual customers.

  • Liaison to the USA Field Hockey Association and all other sponsorships.  

  • Coordinates and represent Longstreth at all off-site vending events for field hockey.

  • Provides technical expertise on field hockey hard goods.

  • Cross-sells uniforms, practice apparel and shoes. 

  • Provides ongoing training and support to customer service, team sales, retail, event, and warehouse staff regarding pertinent product features, differentiation between products, and suitability for various levels of play.
  • Works with marketing to develop ads, flyers, email campaigns, and catalogs.

  • Participates in developing bulk ordering plans each season.

  • Handles the daily management of social media, including Ask the Expert, Twitter and Facebook.

  • Interprets rules from FIH, NCAA, and NFHS and analyzes their implications

 

THE REQUIREMENTS:

We are in search of a person who possesses a great passion for field hockey and who has knowledge of and interest in the field hockey market, product lines and trends within the sport.  The position requires strong interpersonal communication skills as well as strong computer skills.  Qualifications also include a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), along with a minimum one to two years’ experience with girls/women’s sports equipment in the sport of field hockey and/or other similar roles.
